The next-generation Kia Sorento made the Internet rounds nearly a week ago when a pre-production prototype was spotted somewhere in Russia, caught with camouflage only on the hood and rear bumper.

2024 Kia Sorento engine

New details have emerged onto the web about the forthcoming Sorento (codenamed MQ4), along with the fresh set of renderings. There will be a total of six engines available, but that will depend on the market, as our sorce reporting. Gasoline-fueled models will be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter unit performing its duties in the entry-level versions, while turbocharged 2.0- and 2.5-liter mills will equip the more expensive models, too. There will also be 2.0- and 2.2-liter turbodiesel engines. However, Kia has already announced plans to electrify the next KIA Sorento with hybrid and plug-in hybrid engine. It is believed a solar roof in the same vein as the one implemented in the Sonata Hybrid will be available, so look for the SUV to offer a yet-to-be-revealed number of free miles each year, as well. Hyundai says six hours of daily charging will translate into an extra 1,300 kilometers (808 miles) of range annually, in the case of the sedan.

2024 Kia Sorento release date and price

An American debut is likely scheduled for the New York Auto Show in April, and deliveries will begin shortly after, as well. Pricing of new Kia Sorento will start in the vicinity of $27,000

Benchmarking

So, Kia has been spotted benchmarking the Sorento against the latest BMW X5, indicating the new vehicle will be more premium than any of its predecessors, too.

Than, a series of images out of South Korea have revealed some of the car’s new interior that sports a digital instrument cluster, a four-spoke steering wheel, and has a large central infotainment screen, giving an overall more premium and upscale feeling over today’s model, as well.

Competition

It will compete against the likes of the Ford Explorer, Mazda CX-9, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Skoda Kodiaq, GMC Acadia, Toyota Highlander, Nissan Murano, and Dodge Durango, when the new Kia Sorento hits the market.

2024 Kia Optima

Sales in category Sedan at this moment aren’t too hot right now in US. Rising category in sales are crossovers, SUVs, and trucks instead; however, KIA preparing a new model in Sedan category 2024 Kia Optima.

We expect a complete redesign underneath. The new 2024 Kia Optima will borrow a lot of from Kia Forte and Kia Stinger.  The design will emphasize a sleek roofline and wider proportions. The new Optima will have platform-mate, the 2024 Optima will grow in both wheelbase and width.

Inside, the 2024 Kia Optima will feature a ton of technology introduced also on the new Sonata, while also providing a tad more interior space. Some features may get restricted to higher trims and a price premium, but tech such as NFC capability, wireless charging, parking assist, and more should be available along with showing the blind spot monitor view in the instrument panel. A redesigned dash and new materials are also expected.

It’s too early to know what powertrains Kia will offer in the 2024 Optima. However, there should be new or revised four-cylinder engines possibly with or without turbocharging. There are also hybrid and PHEV variants expected, too, though those are expected to launch about a year after the gasoline-powered models hit dealerships.

With sedan sales declining, automakers with a sedan-heavy lineup need to keep their products feeling fresh. While some automakers are abandoning sedans, such as Ford, Kia still has to compete with Honda, Toyota and others. A refreshed Kia Optima could help boost its declining sales. The 2024 Kia Optima should debut early 2023 and go on sale after that.
