  • Radford 62-2 John Player Special

    Radford (a company revived by F1 champion Jenson Button, TV mechanic Ant Anstead and designer Mark Stubbs) has partnered with Lotus to develop its new model called the Lotus Type 62-2 Coachbuilt By Radford.

    Both Radford (in the original version) and Lotus were founded in 1948, and Anstead welcomed the opportunity to unite the two British brands in this way: "We are proud of the British heritage of both companies and I can't think of a better partnership for Radford's return."
    Radford's car is based on Lotus technology (Lotus Evore chassis), the weight of the empty vehicle is only 1000 kg, while the racing Lotus Type 62 from the end of the 1960s served as an inspiration for the look.


    There will be several versions on offer, namely Type 62-2 "Classic" with Evora's 3.5 liter engine with 321 kW / 430hp, then Type 62-2 "Gold Leaf" with the same engine but with 373 kW / 500hp, as and Typoe 62-2 "John Player Special" with all 447 kW / 600HP.

    The base "Classic" has a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 7-speed dual-clutch, while the "Gold Leaf" and "John Player Special" only come with a dual-clutch transmission and electronic LSD differential.

    There are also AP Racing brakes ("John Player Special" optional and with carbon-ceramic brakes), 17 and 18 inch wheels respectively 18 and 19 inches, rear spoiler, two cameras that project the image from the outside world on the A pillars of the driver and front passenger , digital instrument panel, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection...

    The "John Player Special" version also has a larger front splitter and air vents, as well as a rear diffuser.

    A series of only 62 copies is planned (of which 12 are "John Player Special"), but the price is not known yet. Production will start at the end of this year, and the first copies are expected on the roads in early 2022.
