Kia has won 4 prestigious iF Design awards for 2022

Kia has won several respectable awards at the prestigious 2022 iF Design Awards, proving the strength of its design ethos (Opposites United) and the effectiveness of its innovative approach to working with current and future electric vehicle (EV) customers.

The all-electric EV6 crossover played a central role in all four iF Design awards. In addition to winning the design award in the "cars / vehicles" category, the EV6 was the focus of three other awards in the "showrooms / showrooms" (for the EV6 Unplugged Ground), "product interface" categories. infotainment system of the EV6 model) and “textile / wall / floor” (for the three-dimensional GEONIC hybrid material used in the EV6 cab).

The EV6 has won the car design category thanks to its "personification of inspirational mobility". It is the first Kia to use a brand new advanced electric global modular platform and the first to use Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy that combines the emotional with the rational to relax users and inspire movement and creativity.

The EV6 Unplugged Ground in Seongs, Seoul, which was designed to introduce people to the award-winning EV6 in a fun and imaginative way through real-world areas, won the showroom / showroom category. The next-generation exhibition space also sends Kia's message about new ways of life, which includes recycling, sustainability and future-oriented mobility solutions.

The advanced infotainment system EV6 received the iF Design award for "product interface". The high-resolution curved panoramic screen supports and enhances the driver's experience with the overall aesthetics of the interior. And the look of the meter deviates from the classic round graphics of internal combustion engine vehicles and focuses on developing graphics that are optimized for more environmentally friendly electric vehicles. Jury members highlighted the system’s green-purple color palette that gives it a ‘modern look’.

Kia's state-of-the-art interior design material GEONIC, made in collaboration with KOLON, won the award for 'car interior design material'.

This three-dimensional hybrid material illuminates multiple layers of polyurethane, allowing for an unlimited number of patterns and a diverse color palette. It is a simple technique for reviving new approaches in vehicle interior design.

With these latest accolades, the Kia EV6, which features superior design, continues its remarkable winning streak. Since its premiere in 2021, the vehicle has gained numerous media sympathies around the world, and - among the many victories - is the celebrant in the What Car? and 'Car of 2022' and won the 'European Car of the Year' award, all in just a few months after its launch.
