The Visa Chrono was released in 1982 intended for competition in the same vein as the Trophée but in the larger capacity group B engine class.

It used the same 1360 cc XY engine as the Visa GT but with a modified, larger valve head and two double-barrel side draft Solex C35 carburetors and produced 93PS / 92HP 68kW at 5.800rpm and 122Nm / 90lb-ft at 4.500rpm. Power transmitted to the front wheels through a five speed manual gearbox.

Suspension has MacPherson struts at the front, and trailing arms at the rear. Braking system has discs (241mm) at the front and drums (180mm) at the rear wheels.

Externally, the Visa Chrono is distinguished from other Visas by a front spoiler which incorporates Cibie fog lights; a red-coloured rear spoiler, white coachwork with red and blue stripes, extended wheel arches, alloy wheels, and Michelin 175.70 HR 13 XVS tyres. Laminated windscreen, and rear wash wipe are also fitted.

Internally, the dashboard differentiated it from the GT. Instrument panel has two large dials (speedometer and rev counter) and four small ones (quartz clock, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level), a cigar lighter and 8 warning lights (sidelights, dipped headlamps and main beam, direction indicator, oil pressure, water temperature, battery charge, brake wear); satellites are not used but are replaced by light, handy lever-type controls (lights, indicators, windscreen wipers and washer) on either side of the sporting, three-spoke steering wheel which allows very quick movements; two bucket seats, with reclining back for the driver; radio as a standard fitting.
2160 Chronos were produced for the French market and a further 1600 produced for continental Europe outside France. The non-French models did not have the Solex carbs but the GT's Weber carb and head set up and produced 80 PS (59 kW).

Dimensions are: Length 3.720mm, Width 1.540mm, Height 1.430mm, Wheelbase 2.430mm. Weight is 812kg.

Top speed was 172km/h and it could accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 10,2 seconds. Average fuel consumption was 8,5lt per 100km.
