At this year's edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed (2022 Goodwood Festival Of Speed, June 23-26), BMW Motorsport will celebrate its 50th anniversary, among other things, with the promotion of the new M model.
BMW has not yet announced which new M model will debut in Goodwood, but there are several possibilities.
One of those possibilities is the premiere of the long-awaited sports caravan M3 Touring (internal designations G81), which some media recently (unofficially) wrote will have its premiere in June, in the month of the Goodwood Festival Of Speed.
Either way, the premiere is obviously very close as BMW has also released a new video showing the production process of the M3 Touring.
The M3 Touring will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine with 375 kW / 510 hp and 650 Nm of torque in the Competition edition.
The engine will apparently be paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, with xDrive all-wheel drive.
The braking system with 380 mm front and 370 mm rear discs will take care of stopping, while the optional carbon-ceramic brakes have 400 mm front and 380 mm rear discs.
As for the wheels, they are 18 and 19 inches, respectively 19 and 20 inches in the Competition version.
The car will also have the most advanced traction and stability control systems.
The package for the new M3 Touring will also include the M aero body kit (modified front bumper with larger air vents, wider fenders, a set of more striking sills, rear diffuser, rear roof spoiler ...), hood with air vents, sports suspension , sports exhaust system, sports seats and steering wheel
