Sometimes our critics of Tesla and Ilona Maska "bit" the fans of this, now we can say "cult" brand, but we should keep in mind that there is no perfection in the automotive industry, and under the magnifying glass should be additionally newspapers of change, because we all want that the future be shaped properly.

Of course, it is not right to launch so-called autonomous driving software in beta and leave it to the public to engage in testing on public roads. It is clear that a company can always hide behind a disclaimer, so it practically has immunity from any legal repercussions if something goes wrong. As a rule, the blame shifts to the driver, but isn't that cynical, even by corporate standards?

Mercedes driver Lucas Auer won at Assen ahead of AF Corsa driver Liam Lawson and BMW driver Mark Whitman.

According to Serbiaring, Auer started the race from the first starting position in the "Mercedes AMG", ahead of Whitman and the two Ferraris, Liam Lawson and Alex Albon. Audi runner Kelvin van der Linde entered the race from fifth place. The visiting driver, Italian Mirko Bortoloti, was the best placed Lamborghini driver at the start, in sixth place.

Auer held the lead, ahead of Whitman, while Albon overtook his teammate for third place. Kelvin van der Linde dropped eighth place after being overtaken by Bortoloti and two "Mercedes" by Maximilian Goetz and Daniel Huncadella during the first lap.

Due to a flat tire, Ezme Hoki gave up in the first lap, because parts of the tire damaged his "Lamborghini". Auer, Lawson and Goetz did their tire change at the end of the fifth lap. Whitman and Albon did the same lap later, but Lawson managed to overtake Whitman immediately due to better heated tires, while Albon remained stuck behind the BMW. After his stop, Hunkadelja returned to the track in the fight between BMW and Ferrari, where he found himself in front of Whitman.

Albon put pressure on Whitman during almost the entire race, and in the 19th lap, Getz and Bortoloti approached them, which turned two duels into a four-pointer. Lower in the standings, Esteban Mut, behind the wheel of the "Lamborghini" T3 motorsport, reached 15th place, overtaking Christian Klin. Kelvin van der Linde completed his stand at the end of the 20th lap, and managed to get back on the track between Whitman and Albon, which helped the two-time DTM champion separate himself from the competition behind him. The Mercedes driver, Philip Ellis, performed a pirouette on the track and lost four positions.

Van der Linde began to put serious pressure on Whitman, with one slight contact in an attempt to attack. After that, Whitman separated from "Audi" again. In the 29th round, the current runner-up Nico Miller reached the 10th place, overtaking Vincent Abril. In the same round, Sheldon van der Linde's "BMW" withdraws from the race. In an attempt to overtake Kelvin van der Linde at the beginning of the 31st lap, Albon hit the back end of the "Audi R8 LMS". Both drivers continued the race unhindered, but their incident was under investigation. Mike Rockenfeller was the last to change the tires, in the 33rd lap, and the technical problem left Hunkadelin's "Mercedes AMG" by the track.

Lucas Auer was the first to cross the finish line, ahead of Lawson and Whitman. The fourth to see the checkered flag was Kelvin van der Linde, who finished the race ahead of Albon, Goetz and Bortoloti. Nico Miller, Vincent Abril and Esteban Mut completed the top ten.

In the general classification, Lawson leads with 175 points, ahead of Whitman who has collected 165 so far, and Kelvin van der Linde has 160 points. Goetz is fourth with 155 points.

The DTM season continues on October 2 and 3, when the program will feature two races at the Hockenheimring, before the season finale, which takes place a week later at the Norrisring.

Ford Bronco may even arrive in Europe!

It would be a very pleasant surprise for the American brand.

The new Bronco has just started its career on the other side of the Atlantic and has already made serious earthquakes in the field of off-road vehicles, but the real ones, and not some make-up SUV models. There are few such four-wheelers today, I can count them on my fingers, so Bronco was warmly welcomed due to Ford's courage to return to this segment.

Ford's ace is currently out of reach of European customers, but that does not mean that the situation in that area will remain unchanged. Jim Farley, the executive director of the American giant, thinks that Bronco would do well on the Old Continent…

“I see these mighty Defenders, so I believe there are opportunities for the Bronco as well,” Farley said. He added that a decision is currently being made on the final placement in this part of the world, with Ford's European branch having the last word.

"We are waiting for Ford of Europe to break whether or not the Bronco will," said the first man of Ford. If the Bronco arrives on these shores, it will most likely remain available in continental Europe, with no placement in the UK.

In that case, Ford’s SUV would be pitted against Jeep’s Wrangler, Land Rover Defender, and several other members of this small segment.

If Ford of Europe says "yes" to the arrival of the Bronze on the Old Continent, then this model could most likely appear in 2023, because due to the current crisis with microchips, it is unrealistic to expect this four-wheeler in our region earlier.

Despite the fact that Kamaz is a well-known name in the truck industry, one should not ignore the fact that heavy commercial vehicles are still, as their name suggests, still vehicles, as it should be borne in mind that the Russian company is in partnership with Daimler Group. All this should be additionally spiced up by reminding that Kamaz recently presented a promising electric car called "Kama-1".

Knowing all this, one should not be surprised by the news coming from the Urals, according to which the company intends to launch a crossover.

As of last week, the global network is richer with pictures of the new crossover, which has been announced to debut for the 2021-2022 season, under the name KamAZ-65115. The photos reveal that the novelty will be adorned with a familiar but also original style.

The relief visible on the sides of the Russian crossover makes it akin to the style of Volkswagen, while in the zone of the door handles there is a decorative recess, which makes the vehicle even more attractive on that side. Additionally, the SUV will get plastic formwork all around the vehicle, in the characteristic lower section of the sides, with special emphasis on the zones above the wheel arches.

The function of this element is not only protective, but also makes the crossover look wider. Furthermore, on the nose of the passenger Kamaz with an elevated seating position, there will be a radiator grille with wider lamellas, as well as a non-standard bumper. The most visible details on the rear of the crossover relate to the compact windshield, large signal groups made in LED technology, as well as a pair of double pipe ends of the exhaust system.

It is most likely that the novelty will be borrowed from the drivetrain from, as we wrote in the introduction, a cousin crossover named Mercedes-Benz GLA. The newcomer will face the large-series SUVs, Renault Kaptur and Volkswagen Taos in the (home) market.

A suitable engine for the Russian SUV will certainly be the 1.3-liter turbo gasoline that delivers 150 horsepower, and which we have met in numerous three-pointed star and "losanza" vehicles. This drive unit is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. However, it is possible that the introductory version of the newcomer will have a manual transmission.

Kamaz's crossover should not cost more than a million Russian rubles, at least in the basic edition. In our money, the basic price would be around 11,700 euros.

The fourth-generation Nissan Micra is one of the city's little ones, which was not easy to fight in the used car market. The competition is numerous, and the market is traditionally in favor of European models. Rare are those who have decided to market this model guided by reliability statistics in which the Micra stands better than the European competition.

The design outside the conservative framework of the classic customer also contributes to a slightly lower popularity. Still, the Micra doesn’t look bad at all. It is true that the eye of the observer needs a little time to accept the five-door puffy form with the sympathetically sad look of the front and rear, but overall the design fits quite well into European urban scenes.

Inside, the Micra pleasantly surprises anyone who isn’t too familiar with it. Considering the dimensions under four meters, there is an unexpected lot in the rear, the trunk is decent, and the likable and practical driving environment with a lot of handy compartments in more expensive equipment packages like the one in the photos, offers a small dose of prestige.

According to the Auto Club, you can count on comfortable seats and comfortable fabrics, but also hard, albeit flawlessly processed plastic, which is typical for small Japanese cars from ten years ago. Finishing is at a high level so there should be no prejudice towards the location of production in India.

The high body on the one hand offers a lot of space, but on the other hand on the highway it creates a noticeable noise of air flow. Only two 1.2-liter three-cylinder engines are available, but the atmospheric 80 hp and 98-horsepower turbo realistically cover all the needs of using a city car. Both engines are adorned with smooth and quiet operation, they are comfortable and quiet in normal driving, but they also like revs, when the unpleasant sound of the three-cylinder breaks through the sound insulation more strongly.

The basic engine is a bit lazy at lower revs, and a stronger engine can pull quite seriously. The Micra is also quite comfortable for such a small car, and women will appreciate the light and comfortable steering wheel, soft pedals, precise transmission and a small turning circle of only 9.3 meters.

What do the services say, what are the pains of Micra? There are no significant recalls or omissions in the archives, and the maintained copies with normal mileage are, as a rule, flawless. At the EuroNCAP test, the then four stars were won.

In order to complete its permanent exhibition, the Škoda Museum in Mlada Boleslav is now hosting a special exhibition "120 years of Škoda Motorsport", which gives visitors an insight into the most important successes of Škoda Auto in motorsport. Numerous exhibits, information boards and interactive elements provide fans of the brand with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of races and rallies. The special exhibition will last until March 20, 2022.

Thanks to unique photographs, original film footage of Škoda vehicles on racetracks, interesting information boards and modern posters, visitors can dive deep into the history of the Czech car manufacturer. The collection also features a spectacular wall of fame with a large selection of trophies.

Andrea Frydlová, director of the Škoda Museum in Mlada Boleslav, explains: “With the new special exhibition“ 120 years of Škoda Motorsport ”, Škoda is marking its long line of success in motorsport. The "starting pistol" was fired in Paris on June 27, 1901, when Narcis Podsednicek set off on a three-day race to Berlin on a Laurin & Clement motorcycle. Numerous victories followed, world championships won, records and other triumphs of his successors, which led to the formation of today's Škoda Motorsport team with Fabia Rally2 evo rally vehicles. This year's Museum Night on September 24 will be dedicated to motor sports, and a tour of the new exhibition is available. "

The five original race cars are the highlight of a special exhibition, and the real spectacle is the 1903 single-cylinder Laurin & Klement BZ motorcycle dating back to the early days of motorsport, while the L&K FC (1909) represents the company's first generation of race cars. The Škoda Sport, which took part in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans race (1950), is also part of the exhibition.

The past 30 years of motorsport at Škoda have been marked by two rally cars: the Škoda Octavia WRC (2003) and the Škoda Fabia R5 (2019). The exclusive collection is rounded off by the Škoda 130 RS (1978) and the Škoda Fabia S 2000 (2015) from the museum's permanent exhibition. Other vehicles of the brand can be seen in a special hall next to the publicly accessible museum, in agreement with the museum service for visitors.
