The United Kingdom will soon become the European leader in the field of reducing harmful gas emissions. As part of a revised Net Zero strategy, British government ministers have announced that they will create up to 440,000 jobs over the next ten years and free up £ 90bn for additional investment.

One of the ten key priorities is the complete electrification of the vehicle fleet, for which the Government intends to allocate around 1.62 billion pounds, and which, along with subsidies for the purchase of ecological vehicles, includes progress in the infrastructure of public charging stations, especially on local roads, Jutarnji writes. hr.

The recently presented plan to completely ban the sale of all cars that emit harmful gases by 2030, has now become even more ambitious. The ministers plan to achieve a faster transition by reducing the number of cars in cities and increasing distribution among users, generous subsidies, but also an unpopular move - penalties for car manufacturers who do not do enough to completely abolish cars powered by internal combustion engines.

Manufacturers who adhere to the new strategy will be rewarded by the Government with different types of loans, often non-repayable, and those who do not produce enough EV models - the Government will punish. The goal is to force manufacturers to sell an increasing number of zero-emission models, and the application of stricter criteria has been announced for 2024.

Critics of the new strategy point out that it is not good, because the ministers 'did it' under public pressure ahead of the Cop26 climate summit, which starts in Glasgow in two weeks. Also, the Government is criticized, which, despite great promises, in practice does not help potential buyers because it constantly reduces their benefits and subsidies.

In the UK, you can get a discount on the price of brand new low-emission vehicles through government support to agents and manufacturers who reduce the price of the vehicle by the amount of that subsidy. The maximum support for cars is £ 2,500, and to qualify for a grant, cars must cost less than £ 35,000.

The amount of support depends on the category in which the vehicle is located, and they include cars, motorcycles, mopeds, small and large vans, taxis and trucks.

Well-groomed BMW M135i

The Volkswagen Golf R and Audi S3 are already on the market, Mercedes-AMG is preparing an improved A35, and BMW is responding with a few changes to its compact powerful hatchback.

The Series 1 has unfortunately not yet undergone full M treatment, but the closest to it is certainly the M135i xDrive which comes with a series of mechanical improvements three years after the appearance of the “original” model.

It should be emphasized that this is not a redesign, ie Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) in BMW's vocabulary, but a subtle evolution of the most powerful version of the Series 1. Recalibrated springs and shock absorbers improve the car's behavior on the road, especially in corners. Engineers also adjusted the rear and control levers on the rear axle, and the front axle got a new hydraulic carrier. The slope is increased in order to better absorb the forces created by passing through the curves.

The M135i xDrive retained a limited-slip mechanical differential integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the same remained the four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine, which develops 302hp and 450Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four 18-inch wheels, and a 19-inch set is optionally available.

BMW has changed the artificial sound of the engine that is emitted into the cabin via speakers. However, enthusiasts do not want it at all.

The Bavarian company now offers Individual colors for the standard Series 1, so it makes sense that the M135i xDrive also benefited by expanding the palette. In the photos, the car is painted in Sao Paulo yellow, and others are available, such as Frozen Pure gray and Frozen orange.

Bugatti Centodieci close to production

Bugatti debuted with the "superlimited" Centodieci model back in 2019. However, deliveries will not start until next year, because the French manufacturer continues to test its new hypercar.

According to Vrele Gume, the last test was done this summer in America, where a team of 27 engineers along with Centodieci enjoyed dealing with several other Bugatti, three Chirona Pur Sports and four Chirona Super Sports, in warm weather in the southwest. Centodieci has gone through the same tests as other hypercars, although the company plans to produce only 10 units, at a cost of 8m euros each. What has been done is a couple of additional suction openings near the oil cooler, in order to keep the temperature of the machine under control.

"The newly developed Centodiecia body, the aerodynamic changes and the glass engine cover, mean that the thermal behavior is quite different, especially when it's 45 degrees Celsius outside," says Andre Kulig, technical project manager at Bugatti. Of course, the engine is a quad-turbo W16 with a displacement of 8.0 liters, which produces 1,600 horsepower, capable of launching a car up to 100 km / h in just 2.5 seconds. It accelerates to 300 km / h in just 13.1 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 380 km / h. Centodieci, which has several stylistic differences compared to Chiron, is a homage to the cult EB110 from the nineties.

Bugatti is now facing the novice's behavior testing at high speeds. The test of endurance at high temperatures has passed, and now 30,000 kilometers of driving in Europe is ahead. When it's all over Centodieci will be ready for sale.

Hyundai Staria Kinder

A school van is an interesting idea. Does this solution make sense? Hyundai Staria offers a maximum of nine seats in conventional versions. Here, however, it is different. According to the manufacturer, the Hyundai Staria Kinder can use up to fifteen seats - all seated and equipped with adjustable seat belts. Supposedly. It should be added that the driver has at his disposal a system that informs those passengers who have not fastened their seat belts.

It is a pity that no photos of the interior have been discovered that would show what we are actually talking about and how the problem of relatively small space has been solved for this type of car.

For now, we have to settle for a body design that is enriched with yellow, special markings, and additional lights.

The car uses safety systems, including collision avoidance assistance, lane maintenance, blind spot monitoring and reversing warning. It was not revealed what was under the hood. It is probably the well-known and favorite 2.2-liter diesel engine that offers 175 horsepower.

Interestingly, the car found its way to the user. The 15-seater Hyundai Staria Kinder costs 37.41 million won or more than 26,000 euros - in the Korean market, of course. It seems that such a configuration will probably not reach Europe.
