There is no longer a dilemma which of the car brands will become completely electric, because everyone will have to go in this direction in order to survive on the European market. With the new concept, Maybach also announces its electric future, but they do not justify their transformation with new regulations but with the fact that customers in major markets are getting younger and demanding a new kind of luxury provided by electric cars.

With the EQS model concept, Mercedes-Maybach provides a clear overview of the first all-electric production model for this luxury brand. This concept is based on the modular architecture for luxury electric vehicles of the Mercedes-Benz brand and transmits the exclusivity of the Maybach brand into the future without exhaust fumes.
On this basis, another fully electric model will appear - EQS SUV, which will go into series production in 2022, even before Maybach. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS concept is very close to the production version, and it is expected on the roads during 2023.
“With the Mercedes-Maybach EQS concept, after 100 years, we are transforming the brand into the electric future. Futuristic design consists of the emotional integration of surfaces and shapes. The front end, with a progressive Maybach grille, follows the principle of integration and gives the brand a whole new look. Together with the new aerodynamic SUV proportions, we are completely redefining the luxury SUV of the future, ”said Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of the Daimler Group.

The two-tone body and a lot of chrome details are the design features of the Maybach brand, and even now it is no different. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS concept is presented in obsidian black metallic paint and zircon red metallic paint with a chrome line that represents the visual dividing line. Chrome surfaces not only extend over the air intake and diffuser front and rear, but also frame the side windows with a chrome frame with a 3D design.
The interior is the epitome of luxury, and the center console is based on the EQS sedan. In front of the driver and front passenger are three screens connected into one unit called the Hyperscreen, while the seats are taken from the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

However, this SUV brings even more space for rear passengers than the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, so comfort is at the highest possible level. There are two individual seats with the option of heating, cooling and massage, which are also taken from the S-Class Maybach.

The statement said nothing about the propulsion system that powers this concept, but it is known that the range with a single battery charge according to the WLTP standard will be about 600 kilometers.

Volkswagen ID. Life, which debuted at the Munich Motor Show, is a concept of a compact urban crossover that provides insight into a production car that should arrive on the market during 2025 with an affordable price, but also with a lot of power.

The high price of electric cars has aroused many skeptics about the future, but Volkswagen claims it has a solution. Due to the well-known affair with diesels, the German company first started with huge investments in electromobility, and that is now coming to fruition.

ID concept. The life shown in Munich is a real "car for the people", because it brings electromobility at an affordable price. However, don't think that the price of 20,000 euros means that this car is intended for easy transport from point A to point B. Quite the opposite, because it is powered by an electric motor that develops 234 hp, which, as Volkswagen claims, is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 7 seconds. Unlike the ID model. 3 and ID. 4, which in the basic version have rear-wheel drive, the electric motor in this concept transmits power to the front axle.

ID. Life uses a specially tuned version of the MEB platform with a shorter wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The design of this concept has a lot of similarities with other models from the ID range, but in a minimalist style. The concept also has a removable roof, which reduces weight and contributes to greater range. When it comes to range, the 57 kWh battery provides an autonomy of about 400 kilometers according to the WLTP standard.

The minimalist design continues in the cabin as well. The driver can find all the information on the instrument panel that is part of the steering wheel, as well as on the head-up display. There is no screen on the center console, but it is intended for the mobile phone to serve as a screen for controlling the infotainment system. The materials inside the vehicle are largely recycled, and Volkswagen has also offered an innovative solution for those moments when you are waiting for the car to charge.

Namely, the game console and projector are part of the standard equipment, and the screen is a canvas that can be pulled out and placed in front of the windshield. So VW ID. Life becomes a cinema or gaming station, so you can easily have fun while the car is on the charger.
When the serial version appears on the market in a few years, it is expected that the basic model with the announced price of 20,000 euros will have a very modest list of options, but it will be fully equipped. The reason lies in the possibility of unlocking additional content, because it will be possible to include a number of options by paying a surcharge via the Internet.

Volkswagen has once again justified its name, and if the production version has the performance, autonomy and technology of this concept, we are sure that it will be a real revolution in the transition to electromobility.

The Germans are once again pushing the boundaries of design with a new, very unusual city car solution for 2040. BMW “i Vision Circular” is a vehicle concept for urban environments that can be completely recycled. It is adorned with an unprecedented cabin, and you can see more incredible details in the video at the end of this text.

BMW "i Vision Circular" represents the concept of the four-seater electric city car of the future, which is a completely environmentally friendly vehicle. This means that the entire car is made from materials that can be recycled at the end of its life, including the battery, according to BMW's "think, re: duce, use and re: cycle" philosophy.

BMW believes that the way the car is made is as important as the reduction of harmful particles from the exhaust, so they want to achieve climate neutrality throughout the life of the vehicle, writes Auto Klub.

As for the concept, in terms of design, it can be concluded that it is a BMW model - but what used to be kidneys are now two longitudinally stretched digital surfaces over the entire front end with implemented LED lights and the ability to actively change the graphics.

A distinctive BMW design solution in the form of a rear side window and rear roof rack "hofmeister kink" named after the designer Wilhelm Hofmeister as all BMW models have to this day is present here.

The steel components of the concept will be made of secondary (recycled) aluminum and steel, and the battery is also made of recycled materials, which can be reused at the end of the car's life.
The tires, on the other hand, are made of sustainable natural rubber and contain colored particles of recycled rubber that add strength and create a distinctive look.

Moreover, BMW says drivers will be able to send excess energy back to the grid from the car’s battery.
Such connectivity is exactly the function we can expect on electric BMW models in the coming years.

Although it could take quite some time before we see a serial interior like this one in the concept and Vision Cirucular from BMW.

Namely, the center of the cockpit is dominated by a giant "kryptonite" screen that uses light effects to display from the car's computer center, and is also significant for the lack of visible edges. There are no conventional instruments in the cabin at all.

As expected, passengers sit on recycled lavender seats, while the square steering wheel is made of biologically based material in 3D, in this case wood powder.

The BMW Vision Circular concept shows the brand's aspirations for the future and we can expect that many of its ideas on sustainability will be "drawn" into future BMW models in the coming years.

Porsche Mission R Concept

Last month, Porsche announced that it would exhibit a new concept car at this year's Munich Motor Show.

That is what happened today, so we have before us the Porsche Mission R Concept, their first electric race car that is described as a futuristic study that hints at the future of mobility. Also, with this study, "Porsche is looking to the future, with state-of-the-art technology combined with a breathtaking design."

Either way, the Mission R Concept is powered by two electric motors with a combined 800 kW / 1088 hp, acceleration to 100 km / h takes just 2.5 seconds, and top speed is 300 km / h. The news also points out that 75% of the battery capacity can be recharged in just 15 minutes.

The package also includes a plastic body reinforced with natural fibers (the same material is in the interior), a protective cage, all-wheel drive, 18-inch magnesium Cup wheels, Michelin tires, as well as a braking system with 380 mm front and 355 mm discs back.

In terms of dimensions, the Mission R Concept is 4326 mm long, 1990 mm wide, 1190 mm high, the wheelbase is 2560 mm, while the vehicle weighs around 1500 kg.

Unofficially, there is talk of a potential racing series in the future, although there are no concrete details for now.

The concept, which premiered the day before the opening of the Munich Motor Show, not only has larger dimensions than what most expect from Smart, but also shows the greater ambitions of this brand, which is jointly owned by Daimler and the Chinese company Geely.
Smart Concept # 1 is an insight into the first serial model of the new generation of Smart cars, which will feature progressive design, premium equipment and advanced technology. The serial version is being developed by Geely while Mercedes-Benz Design is in charge of the look.

The "floating roof" contributes to the robust appearance of the concept, which gives the impression that this model is slightly larger than it actually is. With a length of 4,290 mm, this is the largest Smart ever, although it still belongs to the class of compact crossovers. By comparison, the Smart ForFour, which is based on the Renault Twingo model, is only 3,495 mm long. In line with modern trends, LED technology has been used to emphasize design elements such as the radiator grille and the strip that connects both the front and rear lights.

LED lighting is used in the cabin, and even in the car floor. The center console is dominated by a 12.8-inch screen that has a 3D display. According to the announcement, the new Smart will have a very high level of driver assistance system that has not been seen in the offer of this brand so far.

The door opens to touch each other, and the B-pillar is completely ejected. The wheelbase of 2,750 mm means that passengers in the Smart will have the comfort that could not be expected from a brand known for small, city cars.

The first SUV of the Smart brand will be mounted on Geely's SEA platform, which is also used by Volvo and Lynk & CO. A range of about 700 kilometers and a much faster battery charge has been announced. Sales of the serial version are expected to start next year, and Smart cars will be produced in China.

Will he be successful? The Germans believe that they want and show the concept of their cult electric SUV - Concept EQG. This is the biggest transformation of the cube legend since it was sold, more precisely since 1979. The concept was unveiled at the Munich Motor Show, which opens to visitors tomorrow. At the same time, Mercedes also unveiled a new version of the conventional G-Class.

A few months ago, we discovered on our portal what an electric G-Class might look like, and now we have official photos of the concept from the Munich Motor Show, where the EQG was shown.
The current G-Class has been on the market since 2018, when the electric version was not yet in the plans, but over time, the electrification of the complete range of the German manufacturer had to include Mercedes' cult 4 × 4.

And what did we get? Visually, the car is just as square as the existing G-Class with rustic details like door handles and turn signals on the fenders and recognizable round headlights. On the other hand, the concept is shown with side lighting strips and a characteristic grille from the EQ model, so the front grille and star are bright, writes Auto Klub.
The rear door now opens classically, and there’s a fifth spare wheel. Or so it seems because the box is square, so there are probably cables for charging the batteries inside. The concept EQG is mounted on 22-inch wheels that are similar to those from the Maybach model.
As for the chassis, the EQG uses the same as the current model with independent front support and a rigid rear link, so, as they say in Mercedes, it is a "real off-roader". So far, no other technical data has been revealed, such as battery capacity, range or performance, but it is certainly expected to be better than the conventional but most powerful version of the G-Class - AMG G63 with V8 engine and 577 hp, which reaches "hundred" for 4.5 seconds.

More precisely, and as they say from the company, "the electric version of the G-Class will improve the field possibilities." Power will come from 4 separate engines mounted on wheels, while the transmission, in addition to the standard ones, will even offer slow speeds. The instant power provided by the electric motors will provide incredible acceleration but also traction, making the EQG ideal for steep and difficult terrain, as well as for transporting heavy loads. "

It is expected that serial production should start in 2024, by which time all technical details will be known.

It is a more robust version for the field in "Copper Orange" color. Comes standard with headlight grilles, front and rear fenders, as well as 18-inch off-road tires. It can be additionally equipped with supports, a tent on the roof, a spare wheel box and other equipment that will make it easier to stay in nature.
